Formé du pianiste et compositeur Arnaud Spick-Saucier, du contrebassiste Étienne Dextraze, du batteur Philippe Lussier-Baillargeon et du saxophoniste/flutiste Alex Dodier, SHPIK propose une musique impressionniste et audacieuse, puisant aux sources du jazz et de la musique de film. Évoquant les grands espaces et la réflexion, passant ainsi de l’immensité à l’infiniment petit, leur premier album ose et propose un voyage déroutant empreint de théâtralité. Avec leurs envolées inspirées et leurs pédales d’effets, SHPIK apporte une touche aérienne à la musique. Leur premier opus Fabulation, est paru en Novembre 2016. Après avoir remporté le Grand Prix de Jazz TD du Festival International de Jazz de Montréal 2018, SHPIK lance leur album Temple O en septembre 2019.

Active in the Montreal Jazz scene, SHPIK has performed in multiple venues and events including the International Jazz Festival of Montreal in 2014 where they performed as an up-and-coming trio. Consisting of pianist and composer Arnaud Spick-Saucier, bassist Etienne Dextraze, drummer Philippe Lussier-Baillargeon and saxophonist/flutist Alex Dodier, SHPIK offers a bold and impressionistic music, drawing its inspirations from jazz and film. Evoking the great outdoors, self-discovery, navigating between the immensity and the infinitely small, this first album offers an intricate musical journey full of spirit and reflection. This special group is bringing a breath of fresh air to the music with their effects pedals and inspired poetry. After the launch of their first album ''Fabulation'', the band won the TD Grand Jazz Award of the Montreal International Jazz Festival 2018.
